Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, discussed, this Tuesday, in Luanda, with the US ambassador to Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi, the increase in bilateral cooperation and the reactions to the meeting between presidents Joe Biden and Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, held on November 30th, at the White House, Washington DC.<\/b><\/p>\n

Joe Biden and Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o met as part of the celebration of 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two States, which cooperate in various areas, such as oil, defense and security and renewable energy.<\/p>\n

In three decades, the two States have deepened exchanges, with regular visits by authorities, businesspeople and other actors, which has allowed sharing experiences in various areas.<\/p>\n

Currently, Angola is the USA’s third largest trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, with oil as one of the main assets of this strategic partnership.<\/p>\n

At the hearing, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio and Tulinabo Mushingi also addressed conflicts in Africa, particularly the situation in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with a focus on the implementation of the Luanda and Nairobi Processes, and the gradual withdrawal of Community Forces from Southern African Development (SADC) in that country.<\/p>\n

In this regard, Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi said that the United States of America appreciates the efforts made by President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o in seeking a peaceful and lasting solution to the dispute between Rwanda and the DRC.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the two entities also spoke about the elections in the DRC, taking place on December 20th, as well as humanitarian issues in the East.<\/p>\n
