Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Jose\u0301 de Lima Massano, assured, this Wednesday, in Luanda, that the country’s medium and long-term Debt Strategy is a public document available on the institutional portal of the Ministry of Finance.<\/b><\/p>\n

The governor responded, exceptionally, to the UNITA parliamentary group, which requested a prior point, before the agenda of the II Extraordinary Plenary Meeting of the National Assembly (AN), which approved the OGE\/2024 Proposal, to obtain from the Holder’s assistants from the Executive Branch for clarifications on the topic.<\/p>\n

“Following the opportunity to share during all the debate sessions and specialty committees, which led to the preparation of the document that is submitted to the final global vote, we were able to convey that in relation to the Medium-Term Debt Strategy it is a document public that takes us to the year 2024”, he said.<\/p>\n

He stated that the Annual Debt Plan in this document will be prepared as soon as the budget is approved and published.<\/p>\n

“Therefore, soon after, we will be able to adopt the same approval, also making this annual debt plan public”, highlighted Jose\u0301 Massano.<\/p>\n

As part of the general approval of the 2024 OGE Proposal, on November 14, the National Assembly unanimously approved UNITA’s request to the Executive for the Country’s General Debt Strategy in the Medium and Long Term.<\/p>\n

The leader of the UNITA parliamentary group, Liberty Chiaka, understands that the deputies approved this request “because we are convinced that the sovereign people of Angola need to know how much money Angola owes, to whom it owes it and what the interest rate is”.<\/p>\n
