Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of Benguela, Lui\u0301s Nunes, expressed this Wednesday, in this city, his confidence in overcoming obstacles and achieving greater achievements in terms of managing the province in 2024.<\/b><\/p>\n

In his speech during the end-of-year greeting ceremony, Lui\u0301s Nunes appealed to the spirit of collaboration of all forces in society, to better serve the population.<\/p>\n

“No one is more important than the saleswoman in Tchapanguele, the fisherman in Bai\u0301a, the peasant in Cubal or the zungueira mother who fights for her livelihood, or even the young man who washes cars or transports goods for others”, he emphasized.<\/p>\n

For the governor, everyone represents a sustainable stone for the growth and development of the province and, therefore, he reiterated his commitment to leaving no one behind.<\/p>\n

Referring to the year about to end, he highlighted the materialization of the Lobito Corridor, with all the surrounding logistics platform, as a fact that, due to its magnitude and scope, “constitutes a historic step and makes 2023 a special year for Benguela” ;.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, the Lobito Corridor will catapult the province to \u201cother oceans\u201d, bringing its real geo-strategic value.<\/p>\n

According to Lui\u0301s Nunes, throughout this year, achievements have been witnessed in various sectors, from public administration to social assistance, health, education and others.<\/p>\n

“In the economic sphere, there has been notable growth, the result of the hard work of our local entrepreneurs and the continuous institutional support that, as a Government, we will continue to provide”, he emphasized.<\/p>\n

He said, however, that one cannot ignore the difficulties that many have experienced in this process, and that efforts must continue to be made to promote policies that guarantee equitable opportunities for all.<\/p>\n

He recalled that in the area of \u200b\u200beducation, in addition to the increase in access to basic education, with the construction and revitalization of new teaching units, there were also advances in higher education.<\/p>\n

“We invested in school infrastructures, adapted educational programs, as well as seeing the insertion of new and increasingly qualified teachers and educators”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

The governor stressed, however, that in this regard, the liability is still considerable and promised to spare no efforts to improve the conditions for children to attend classes, as well as working conditions for teachers.<\/p>\n

He recalled the inauguration, last Monday, of the Instituto Polite\u0301cnico BG 0030 \u201cAnto\u0301nio Satito\u201d, in the Bio\u0301pio area (Catumbela), with 21 classrooms, which will be able to serve, in two shifts, 1,680 secondary school students.<\/p>\n

The unit also has five laboratories \u2013 IT, Electricity, Physics, Chemistry and Biology \u2013 library, administrative area, auditorium and a multipurpose field.<\/p>\n

Regarding health, he said it was a “non-negotiable priority” where we will face increasingly greater challenges, taking into account the urgency of reaching everyone.<\/p>\n

The government official highlighted the need to always carry out, even if only briefly, an exercise in accountability and assessment of how the Government’s actions have an impact on the lives of each citizen.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur administration has been guided by a firm commitment to sustainable development, social inclusion and collective well-being,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He expressed his desire to count on every citizen, without exception, to continue building a stronger and more resilient province together.<\/p>\n

“I am sure that Benguela’s progress is the direct result of a joint effort and it is with this motivation that we are here, and it is crucial to remember that there is a long way to go to achieve the dream, as we are aware of the enormous constraints that our populations go through, result of an extremely difficult global economic situation”, he considered.<\/p>\n

He further added that “in this special year in which we are on the eve of a festive season, I invite each of us to reflect on our actions for the common good, in order to contribute to growth, stability and thus renew our individual commitment to the progress of our province.<\/p>\n
