Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A survey on financial literacy carried out by the National Statistics Institute (INE) indicates that 60 percent of the population of the province of Moxico has never created a business, according to data consulted.<\/b><\/p>\n

The aforementioned survey carried out in the second quarter of this year covered 1,980 households, of which 1,530 lived in urban areas, allowing the level of knowledge, behavior and financial attitude of the population over 15 years of age to be assessed.<\/p>\n

Regarding the financial situation of families, the study concluded that 23.3 percent of the population has already created a business, but is inactive, while only 16.2 percent is active.<\/p>\n

Regarding the type of business, 94 percent choose commerce, 4.1 provide services and one percent focus on other activities.<\/p>\n

The main source of capital for the business is savings made over the years, with 56.4 percent, 15% of the population opting for financing, 4.7% of their salary, while 23.9% comes from other sources.<\/p>\n

Regarding the situation of having a source of income, the survey shows that 41.3% of the population has income, while 58.7% do not have any source of income.<\/p>\n

Among men, only 45.5% have a source of income, contrary to the female group with the figure set at 37.1% of people who have income.<\/p>\n

Regarding the debt contracting situation, 85.9% of the population of Moxico does not contract debt, according to the INE survey.<\/p>\n

Regarding the population that takes on debt, set at 13.5 percent, the study concluded that 7.5% do so every month and 92.5% when unforeseen circumstances arise.<\/p>\n

Currently, the level of financial literacy of the population of the province of Moxico is set at 16.9%, according to the results of the INE study.<\/p>\n

The province of Moxico, made up of the main municipalities (Moxico), Camanongue, Le\u0301ua, Cameia, Luacano, Luau, Alto Zambeze, Bundas and Luchazes is inhabited by 994 thousand 53 people, of which 506 thousand 837 are women, according to forecasts from the National Statistics Institute (INE).<\/p>\n
