Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>New centralities could be built, starting next year, in the provinces of Zaire, Cuanza Norte, Malanje, Moxico and Cuando Cubango, announced this Tuesday in Luanda, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Carlos Santos .<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the V ordinary meeting of the MPLA Central Committee, which analyzed, among other issues, the quality of infrastructure, the minister informed that Zaire will have two centralities in the cities of Mbanza Congo and Soyo, with 1500 homes each.<\/p>\n

Likewise, Moxico will benefit from a centrality with three thousand houses, Malanje 2500, Cuanza Norte two thousand, while Malanje and Cuando Cubando 1500 each.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the government official lamented the lack of payment of rent due by some apartment owners in central areas, justifying that this situation has created constraints on the sector he manages.<\/p>\n

He stated that the Executive will continue to encourage self-construction in Luanda and the other provinces of the country, with the concession of infrastructured land, with a view to contributing to reducing the housing deficit.<\/p>\n

For 2024, the minister highlighted the rehabilitation of the roads that connect Moc\u0327a\u0302medes and Virey (Namibe) and Uige to Buengas, as well as the respective bridges, as priorities for his portfolio.<\/p>\n

He recalled that around 600 kilometers of road have already been rehabilitated between Malanje and Saurimo (Lunda Sul), Catete\/Maria Teresa (Cuanza Norte) and the duplication of Estrada Nacional (EN) No. North and South Lundas.<\/p>\n

He added that the Executive also intervened in around 200 of the 742 ravines in the country and plans to create local capacity to halt their progression, which puts strategic infrastructures at risk.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, member of the MPLA Central Committee Gonc\u0327alves Muandumba encouraged the Government to continue investing in the construction of infrastructure, in order to guarantee the creation of more jobs and improve the living conditions of the population.<\/p>\n

Idalina Valente, also a leader of the ruling party, welcomes the level of implementation of road infrastructure in the country, highlighting that they will facilitate the mobility of people and goods.<\/p>\n

For his part, Justino Capapinha, member of the JMPLA national secretariat, highlighted that the MPLA and the Government will continue to work to find the best solutions to the problems that affect youth and populations in general.<\/p>\n

The ordinary meeting of the MPLA Central Committee, which began on Monday, was chaired by the party president, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n
