Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of the Interior, Euge\u0301nio Laborinho, ordered this Friday, in Luanda, the National Police personnel, during the festive season, to operate with a spirit of sacrifice, selflessness, discipline and respect for the citizen.<\/b><\/p>\n

When speaking about the parade, at the ceremony launching the forces and operational means to ensure it, he called on the population to collaborate with the forces of order, denouncing all practices and acts that jeopardize social order and peace.<\/p>\n

The holder of the Interior portfolio left a word of appreciation to the other Defense and Security bodies who, in collaboration with the forces of order, will act to fulfill this mission of ensuring that the festive season takes place in an environment of peace and joy and respect for the ethical, moral and civic principles.<\/p>\n

The mobilization, he indicated, of personnel for this purpose is synonymous with commitment to the country and the duty to guarantee the security of citizens and their property, as well as the protection of public and private institutions.<\/p>\n

“That’s why you had to abandon your families and the comfort of your homes to dedicate yourself to carrying out this arduous but honorable mission”, he said.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the celebrations of the festive season mobilize a large part of the population both in urban centers and in rural areas, registering an increase in musical-cultural and recreational activities, as well as internal and inter-provincial circulation.<\/p>\n

For this reason, said the minister, many citizens seek to acquire essential goods during the Christmas and New Year season, so they can celebrate with their families and friends in harmony and concord.<\/p>\n

The minister lamented the fact that, at this time, other citizens chose to commit criminal actions to obtain easy profits, causing material losses and moral and human damages to others, in addition to creating changes to public order and increasing insecurity.<\/p>\n

More than 100 thousand personnel mobilized for the festive season<\/p>\n

Around 110 thousand employees from the various bodies of the Ministry of the Interior are mobilized to guarantee order during the festive season in the country and must base their actions on pedagogy and respect for citizens.<\/p>\n

The ceremony to present the forces to ensure the 2023-2024 festive season took place at the Cavalry and Cinotechnics Unit, in the Angolan capital, in the presence of those responsible for the operational bodies of the Ministry of the Interior.<\/p>\n
