Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The progression of ravines, in 10 of the 23 neighborhoods in the municipality of Lubango, capital of the province of Hui\u0301la, three of them in Mitcha, whose dimensions vary between 640 meters and 1.5 km in length, threatens homes and social infrastructures.<\/b><\/p>\n

In total, 21 ravines are registered, measuring 14 to 30 meters wide and 10 to 15 meters deep, which put nine thousand 66 homes at risk.<\/p>\n

The ravines in the Mitcha neighborhood are located in three different areas, the first being 1.5 km long, 14 meters wide and ten meters deep, which is the most worrying, while in Ferrovia and Mapunda eight are catalogued, four in each of them, with approximately 136 thousand square meters.<\/p>\n

In Tchioco there are two, one measuring 1.3 km, 130 meters wide and ten meters deep and the other measuring 840 meters long, 65 meters wide and 28 meters deep, he told Friday, the deputy municipal administrator for technical areas and infrastructures, Orlando Bra\u0301s.<\/p>\n

The official also reported the existence of two other ravines in the Bula Matadi neighborhood, one 410 meters long, 30 meters wide and 20 meters deep and the other 600 meters long, 20 meters wide and eight meters deep, noting that another Worryingly, it is in Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, 178 meters long, eight wide and three deep.<\/p>\n

Other areas affected by the same phenomenon, according to the deputy administrator, are Luyovo, Valo\u0301dia, Nambambi, Eiwa and Mutundo, noting that given their evolutionary state, they require \u201clarge-scale\u201d actions.<\/p>\n

He detailed that the ravine of greatest concern is in the Mitcha neighborhood, which, due to the rain that has been falling, tends to spread, threatening the existence of houses and social facilities.<\/p>\n

In the municipality of Lubango, only two ravines are being intervened, being the owner of the work, the Ministry of Public Works, one that passes next to the Tundavala Stadium and another in the commune of Hoque, which put some infrastructures at risk.<\/p>\n
