Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The presiding judge of the Cuito District Court, Bie\u0301 province, Ganga Pilartes da Silva, highlighted the role that the State plays in resocialization in the Cuito Penitentiary Service, which is contributing to the well-being of inmates.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking about the contact he maintained with the inmates of this prison establishment, as part of a visit during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, Ganga Pilartes da Silva was pleased with the fact that literacy, technical-professional courses, agriculture, among others, in this institution.<\/p>\n

He also considered it positive because there is psychological support for detainees, which should contribute significantly to the social and family reintegration of inmates, after completing their sentence.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he also noted that it was important not to have excessive preventive detention.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the delegate for Justice and Human Rights in the province of Bie\u0301, Cristino Vale\u0301rio, assured that there was also no violation of human rights, either in the Capolo prison, 52 kilometers southwest of Cuito, or in the Comarca of Cuito.<\/p>\n

The president of the Provincial Council of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) in this region, Anto\u0301nio Buta, defended the need for bodies involved in the administration of justice to have greater transparency, with a view to avoiding the recording of illegal detention.<\/p>\n

The Cuito District controls more than 700 inmates, including detainees and convicted inmates.J<\/p>\n
