Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>After Luanda, the literary work entitled \u201cA journey to the center of me\u201d, written by the young Angolan writer Irivaldo Sati, has already been launched in the city of Lobito, province of Benguela, Tuesday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The book, with 104 pages, is a collection of gothic, romantic and religious poetry, according to the author.<\/p>\n

Produced in Lobito, the work was sponsored by Fa\u0301bio Timo\u0301teo and contributed by Friar Joaquim Jose\u0301 Angalo, from the Catholic Church, from Rome, and a thousand copies were published.<\/p>\n

According to the writer, in this first edition, 800 copies were sold in Luanda, last week, and 200 were brought to Lobito, costing seven thousand kwanzas per unit.<\/p>\n

Irivaldo Sati stated that he intends to contribute to the \u201crelaunch\u201d of poetry in Angola.<\/p>\n

The young writer considers that, currently, there are few literary works in this genre (poetry), which he regrets.<\/p>\n

“Today, young people are more interested in social media, following mainly digital influencers”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

As an example, Irivaldo Sati said that many young people have never heard of acrostics (a textual form where the first letters of each phrase or verse form a word or phrase) and sonnets, and are not familiar with this literary style (poetry).<\/p>\n

He recalled that Angolan poetry has already reached an international level with the contributions of Agostinho Neto, Ma\u0301rio Pinto de Andrade, Viriato da Cruz, among other renowned writers.<\/p>\n

He made it known that these writers were the basis of his inspiration to move forward with his project called “Reviving Angolan poetry”.<\/p>\n

“Ma\u0301rio Pinto de Andrade, in 1956, wrote in France the Theory of Angolanity and later, in 1960, Agostinho Neto released his book Sagrada Esperanc\u0327a”, recalled the writer.<\/p>\n

The writer, known as “Tycoon of words”, called on young literature lovers to embrace the cause, through research and production of literary works.<\/p>\n

This is his first book and he is already thinking about a second. Irivaldo Sati is not yet a member of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA), but he plans to register as soon as possible, because he needs to be legal in the Angolan literary market.<\/p>\n
