Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Seventeen citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who intended to enter the national territory illegally were, on Monday, intercepted by the Border Guard Police, in the province of Zaire.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a note sent this Wednesday, in Mbanza Kongo, the Zaire Provincial Command of the National Police informs that, during Christmas, six cases of border violations were registered at the No\u0301qui, Kinguvo, Marco-11 and Mpozo posts.<\/p>\n

After operational interrogations, the note also states, the aforementioned illegal immigrants were repatriated to their country of origin, using the same means.<\/p>\n

It adds, on the other hand, that in the same period, Border Guard Police forces seized 2,500 liters of fuel in the Santo Anto\u0301nio river channel, in the municipality of Soyo, for alleged smuggling of petroleum derivatives.<\/p>\n

Packed in 250 liter containers, the product was destined for the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo.<\/p>\n

The province of Zaire, northern Angola, shares 310 kilometers of border with the DRC, 120 km of which is land and 190 km of river border, through the Zaire River.<\/p>\n
