Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary of the PRS in the province of Huambo, Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende, defended, this Wednesday, the need to speed up the works on the Cuima\/Cussi section, on national road 354, to facilitate inter-regional trade.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a road that connects the provinces of Huambo (Cuima) and Hui\u0301la (Cussi), respectively, in the Center-South region of the country, on a route of 65 kilometers, of which 20 are already paved and another 20 with the layer base completed, in a project that began in 2017, but was halted in 2019.<\/p>\n

According to Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende, who was speaking at the traditional end-of-year greeting ceremony for members of the PRS Secretariat in the province of Huambo, these are works that, as they connect two strategic provinces in the Center-South, could contribute to inter-regional trade and international, above all, with Namibia.<\/p>\n

The supporter also asked for the improvement of access on secondary and tertiary roads, with emphasis on Chicala-Cholohanga\/Samboto, Mungo\/Cambuengo, Ecunha\/Quipeio, Longonjo\/Catabola\/Chilata, Chinjenje\/Chyaka, Ucuma\/Mundundu\/Cacoma, Londuimbali\/Cumbila, with the aim of facilitating the flow of agricultural products.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the need to reinforce strategies to reduce the prices of basic food products, mainly rice, sugar, vegetable oil, among others, which make the population’s diet more expensive on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

He added that Angola, due to the status already achieved in Africa, is important that there are no more deaths due to medical negligence, malaria, shortages of medicines, nurses and other social concerns, which could undermine the image achieved.<\/p>\n

He called on PRS activists to work on consolidating democracy, cohesion, unity and solidarity, with a focus on defending the interests of citizens and a better future for the country.<\/p>\n

In the last general elections, held on August 24, 2022, won by the MPLA, the PRS did not elect any deputy for the constituency of the province of Huambo, obtaining four thousand 704 votes, equivalent to 0.86 percent, out of a total of 561,326 voters went to the polls to exercise their citizenship rights.<\/p>\n
