Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>At least 550 inhabitants of the village of Quilamba, eight kilometers from the municipal headquarters of Matala, Hui\u0301la province, have had, since Tuesday, their first drinking water collection and distribution system.<\/b><\/p>\n

The infrastructure is supported by solar energy and was inaugurated by the local administrator, Miguel Paiva Vicente, whose investment is set at 19 million kwanzas from the Local Development Program to Combat Poverty (PDLCP).<\/p>\n

The system has the capacity to pump six thousand liters\/hour, as well as a reservoir tank for ten thousand liters.<\/p>\n

When inaugurating the equipment, administrator Miguel Vicente, the administrator stated that the focus is to ensure that people have drinking water available and, therefore, reduce possible illnesses resulting from inappropriate liquid.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince 2010, all areas of Matala have managed to install water systems with solar panels for human consumption, as well as dams for watering livestock without traveling long distances in search of this precious liquid\u201d, – he said.<\/p>\n

Current data from the municipal energy and water office has controlled 50 operational water systems for more than 345 thousand 398 inhabitants.<\/p>\n

With a territorial area of \u200b\u200bnine thousand 065 square kilometers, the municipality of Matala is 180 kilometers east of Lubango.<\/p>\n
