Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, considered, this Friday, that the only way to reduce the prices of food products is to diversify the economy and increase the domestic production of goods and services.<\/b><\/p>\n

In his new year’s message, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o said that the Executive has done everything to alleviate the inequalities that still exist and provide all Angolans with more dignified living conditions, with programs to promote agricultural and fishing production to increase the supply of goods of great consumption.<\/p>\n

The statesman highlighted the importance of the family as the basis of society, which must deserve extensive constant care from everyone who lives with the most difficulties.<\/p>\n

The Head of State said that he continues to invest seriously in investments in the social area, with the construction of hospital units of different categories, school infrastructures for different levels of education, as well as in the training and admission of health and education professionals. with the skills required for the proper functioning of these sectors.<\/p>\n

“We are also increasing the supply of energy and drinking water for populations and different industries and improving and expanding the national road and railway network, in addition to public investment in the construction of so-called centralities, we have been promoting policies to promote self- construction aimed at ensuring a better quality of life for Angolans”, he said.<\/p>\n

The State, he recalled, continues to be the major employer, especially in the health, education and teaching sectors, but with the diversification of the economy a major employer partner will emerge, namely the private business sector, in addition to the resulting self-employment. technical-professional training provided to young people through the various existing programs.<\/p>\n

The statesman counts on the commitment and work of citizens, on their active participation in the production process and in all vital sectors of society to make Angola a country of opportunities for all.<\/p>\n

He reiterated his commitment to peace and national reconciliation, a fundamental condition for the country’s economic and social development and prosperity.<\/p>\n

He expressed feelings of condolence to everyone who lost loved ones during the year 2023, as well as offering sincere wishes for good health, peace and harmony in all homes and the hope of a new year with redoubled faith in a better future for everyone.<\/p>\n

“For this new year that begins, our hearts are with all the people of the world who are victims of hunger and poverty, disease, racial prejudice, natural calamities resulting from climate change, but above all the victims of wars and armed conflicts that proliferate around the world”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

After wishing a prosperous new year, he called for definitive peace to be found in 2024 in the territories of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mozambique, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine and Israel.<\/p>\n
