Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Four hundred and 89 infractions were detected in the province of Huambo, from 15 November to date, by the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA), as part of the \u201cOperation Christmas\u201d campaign.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided to the press this Friday by the local coordinator of ANIESA, Manuel Vitongue, during the pre-assessment of the campaign, stating that the infractions occurred in 82 commercial establishments selling wholesale and retail.<\/p>\n

He explained that the irregularities are linked to the lack of first aid kits, product purchase invoices and the price calculation structure, in addition to the dates of some products being expired, especially in recently incinerated soft drinks.<\/p>\n

According to the person responsible, during the campaign, 14 economic agents were fined, while 22 sent administrative appeals to ANIESA explaining the irregularities, with another 48 still unjustified, who have another 15 days to overcome the illegalities.<\/p>\n

Manuel Vitongue warned that the pedagogical phase is over for traders, who are already receiving the appropriate exemplary sanctions, to stop speculation in the prices of the basic food basket.<\/p>\n

Therefore, expect greater collaboration from commercial operators to avoid fines, in addition to citizens continuing to report infractions that occur in certain commercial establishments.<\/p>\n

The \u201cOperac\u0327a\u0303o Natal\u201d campaign, which runs until January 5, 2024, in addition to involving ANIESA technicians, includes specialists from the General Tax Administration (AGT), the Criminal Investigation Services (SIC), General Labor Inspectorate (IGT) and Migration and Foreigners Services (SME).<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to inspect and monitor widely consumed products, influencing compliance with legal obligations by economic agents and ensuring the protection of consumer rights.<\/p>\n

ANIESA was created through Presidential Decree No. 267\/20, of October 16, as an inspection body for economic activities. It is made up of inspectors from commerce, hotels, health, agriculture and other related areas, who control the prices and quality of products on sale.<\/p>\n
