Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The deputy attorney general of the Titular Republic of Namibe, Euge\u0301nio Soneha\u0303 Cassandi, warned society to be careful with the misuse of social networks, which, in the case of a complaint, does nothing to help formulate a procedural initiative, without that first gather sufficiently acceptable evidence for the accusation.<\/b><\/p>\n

Euge\u0301nio Soneha\u0303 Cassandi, who spoke last Wednesday, during the seminar on “Society’s Participation in Preventing, Combating Corruption and Related Crimes in Public Administration”, promoted by the PGR, in partnership with the General Inspectorate of State Admiration ( IGAE), recalled that \u201cwhoever accuses has to prove it\u201d.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that in this role, whether of the PGR or IGAE in preventing and combating crime, especially corruption, civic activists are seen as a “privileged partner”, because many of their actions are only effective because of their cooperation and interaction.<\/p>\n

The deputy attorney general of the Republic accused social networks as one of the “great enemies” of the cooperation that “we have sometimes had” with civil society, having called for care with social networks, maintaining that, as long as the case is not clarified via court, do not help in any way to clarify. \u201cIt\u2019s like they say in slang: we\u2019re giving the gold to the criminal,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

“And if I go on social media and say that the guy is stealing, did this or that, I’m telling that person to prepare to hide the evidence, so that when he is notified by the PGR, he gets there safely equipped with all possible defenses and weakens any evidence brought by the complainant\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n

Regarding the vandalization of public property, the deputy attorney general of the Titular Republic of Namibe asked for greater collaboration from the population in this task, which he considers “herculean”, and advises denouncing alleged perpetrators, reinforcing that “those who love their country should not cause damage the society”.<\/p>\n

Crime, added Euge\u0301nio Soneha\u0303 Cassandi, is not limited to acts of corruption or economic or financial crime, highlighting that crimes of homicide, bodily harm, theft and robbery were the most recorded in December.<\/p>\n

In turn, the IGAE delegate, Selma Dilangue da Costa Araga\u0303o, considered it necessary to perpetuate the “marriage” between civic activists, society in general and the two State institutions described above, in order to maintain cooperation ” irreplaceable\u201d in the pursuit of objectives embodied in guaranteeing citizens\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n

The advantages of the existence of IGAE, he also said, include pressure to improve the provision of public services to the population. In this regard, he promised to continue the work of patrolling some health units this Festive Season, to sensitize citizens and make them aware of the advantages and risks, in order to prevent doctors and nurses from disobeying.<\/p>\n

Another advantage of IGAE’s presence, according to Selma Dilangue da Costa Araga\u0303o, is that it allows the payment of State amounts, such as Kwenda programs and others, to be effectively directed to people in need and with the desired speed.<\/p>\n
