Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Seven young people of Angolan nationality were selected for the second phase of the United Nations Young Professionals Program in Economic Affairs and Information Systems and Technology exam.<\/b><\/p>\n

The candidates, of which only two are female, were notified for the written test of the second phase, to be held between January and February 2024, says a statement from the country’s Permanent Representation at the United Nations, in New York. , released Friday.<\/p>\n

The UN Young Professionals Program is an initiative to recruit talented and highly qualified professionals to begin a career as an international civil servant at the United Nations Secretariat.<\/p>\n

The Program consists of an admission examination and professional development process, as successful candidates begin their career at the United Nations Secretariat.<\/p>\n

Every year, countries that are underrepresented or not represented in the UN system, such as Angola, are invited to participate in the examination process. The Young Professionals Program exam is held once a year in different subject areas depending on the needs of the UN.<\/p>\n

As requirements, candidates must be nationals of a participating Member State, be 32 years of age or younger, hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3-year degree relevant to the area of \u200b\u200bthe examination, and be fluent in English or French.<\/p>\n

Selected candidates will be offered a two-year fixed-term contract at the beginning of their professional career at the UN, subject to satisfactory performance that will qualify them for a continuous contract.<\/p>\n
