Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Thirty (30) athletes were, (Sunday), assisted by the Angola Medical Emergency Institute (INEMA), in the 67th edition of the end-of-year race, Sa\u0303o Silvestre de Luanda2023, over 10 kilometers.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking at the end of the competition, which took place at Largo da Mutamba, ending at Esta\u0301dio dos Coqueiros, the head of department of the Luanda Provincial Office, Nelson Tiago, of those attended, four (4) were transferred, to one of the hospital units in the country\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

Of these, there was a 31-year-old athlete, who suffered dislocations due to a fall in the Ho-Chi-Minh Avenue area, the second was 35 years old, who fell in the Alameda Manuel Van-Du\u0301nem area, and the last two were 25 and 40 years old, who crossed the finish line and fell, transported unconscious to the hospital.<\/p>\n

He explained that, the two are foreigners and females from Zimbabwe and Namibia, the rest were male nationals.<\/p>\n

To respond, INEMA was available to the athletes, 30 staff, six ambulances, of which three were advanced support, four doctors, 20 nurses and six (6) drivers.<\/p>\n

At the time, the spokesperson for the National Police, Nestor Goubel, considered that the provisional balance was positive, because all the athletes managed to reach the finish line, without any abnormal situation along the way.<\/p>\n

He clarified that despite everything, they will continue to receive reports from all the forces involved, because they had around three thousand personnel from the most varied branches of the Ministry of the Interior to ensure the race, for the subsequent final assessment.<\/p>\n

The 67th edition was won by Namibian Daniel Paulus (29:32), followed by Zimbabwean Moses Tarakinyu (29:54), with Angolan Anto\u0301nio Teko (30:31), in fourth place (men).<\/p>\n

In the women’s category, the Namibian Helalia Johannes (34:08) also triumphed, leaving the Kenyan Margaret Monicah (34:32) and the Angolan Ernestina Paulino (35:38) in third place.<\/p>\n

Sa\u0303o Silvestre, Namibia, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Mauritius, Somalia, Gambia and Kenya were present at this event, as well as more than two thousand Angolan athletes.<\/p>\n

The race, which started from Largo da Mutamba, passed through Avenidas Ami\u0301lcar Cabral, Revolucio\u0301n de Outubro, Ho-Chi-Minh, Alamedas Manuel Van-Du\u0301nem, Largo do Kinaxixi, Ruas da Missa\u0303o, Cirilo da Conceic\u0327a\u0303o, 4 de Fevereiro, Largo do Baleiza\u0303o, Rua Francisco das Necessidades, ended at Esta\u0301dio dos Coqueiros.<\/p>\n
