Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>In the province of Huambo, 25 new primary schools, first and second cycles of secondary education, were built this year in the eleven municipalities, within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and Combating Poverty.<\/b><\/p>\n

The data was made public, Thursday, by the governor of the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, when she spoke at the End of the Year greetings ceremony. She explained that the number of educational establishments built by the Government placed more than 200 classrooms, benefiting 14 thousand students in eleven municipalities.<\/p>\n

Regarding investments in Health and despite the few resources allocated, Lotti Nolika said that it was possible to complete ten new health units, including centers and facilities now available to the population.<\/p>\n

The minister reaffirmed that the construction of the Pediatric Hospital and the Military Hospital is underway, as well as the rehabilitation works of the Maternity and Pediatrics Unit at the Huambo General Hospital.<\/p>\n

Requalification of access roads<\/p>\n

In this regard, he made it known that a project to requalify and infrastructure the roads of the main peripheral neighborhoods is being carried out, to restore the image of the city, the result of which is the result of Presidential Order 149\/2023, of June this year.<\/p>\n

In terms of professional training, Lotti Nolika said that the Government remains determined to make Huambo a true reference, especially because the region gained two major social infrastructures, namely, the Cidadela Jovem do Sucesso in the Municipality of Bailundo, already in operation. The Integrated Technological Training Center, CINFOTEC, was also built, considered the largest and most modern professional training infrastructure in the country.<\/p>\n

Perspectives<\/p>\n

For next year, the director plans to increase the offer of technical-professional training, with the completion of works on the Vocational Training Center in the neighborhood of Sa\u0303o Pedro, on the outskirts of the city. She pointed out that the Government will continue to focus and invest in training young people with the aim of creating greater employment opportunities.<\/p>\n
