Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of Moxico will prioritize the completion of social project works that have been suspended for several years, the local governor, Ernesto Muangala, reported this Monday in Luena.<\/b><\/p>\n

The province of Moxico has several works on hold, including the Instituto Me\u0301dio Polite\u0301cnico in the Alto Luena neighborhood, the primary school “Comandante Kwenha”, in the center of the capital city, with the capacity to accommodate five thousand and 400 students.<\/p>\n

Still in the education sector, the region has seen the closure of a primary school in the Tchifuchi neighborhood, with a capacity of 19 classrooms, and a Mother and Child Center in the city of Luena whose work has been interrupted due to financial difficulties.<\/p>\n

Within the scope of the Integrated Municipal Intervention Plan (PIIM), in a universe of 139 projects, 71 were inaugurated and 31 are paralyzed, while the rest are being implemented.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the governor saw 2024 as a year of “a lot of work”, to guarantee the region’s development.<\/p>\n

Regarding roads, the governor was optimistic about the start of work on the National Road 250 (EN250), which will connect the regions of Luena\/Munhango, in Bie\u0301, (156 kilometers), Luena\/Le\u0301ua-Cameia (102 kilometers) and Luzi\u0301\/Cassamba\/Cangamba (more than 200 kilometers).<\/p>\n

In the water sector, the Government plans to build three collection, treatment and distribution systems in the municipal headquarters of Le\u0301ua, Luau and Alto Zambeze.<\/p>\n

Moxico is a province of Angola, made up of the main municipalities (Moxico), Camanongue, Le\u0301ua, Cameia, Luacano, Luau, Alto Zambeze, Bundas and Luchazes, is inhabited by 994 thousand 53 people, of which 506 thousand 837 are women, according to forecasts from the National Statistics Institute (INE).<\/p>\n
