Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The city of Lubango, capital of Hui\u0301la, woke up today, Tuesday, calm and clean, but absenteeism marks the main public and private services.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the streets, movement is timid, taxi stops and public transport are empty and commercial areas are closed. Among the essential services open, commercial banks, the notary’s office and civil identification stand out, but with a typical holiday image, although this is not the case.<\/p>\n

The emotional burden of the year’s transition may be the only explanation for the weak movement in the city, although it was communicated in advance, by the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, that the 26th of December and the 2nd of January would be normal work.<\/p>\n

Unlike today, the day after Christmas was marked by the massive presence of citizens at workplaces and on the streets.<\/p>\n

The transition night of the year \u201cwas calm\u201d, according to the National Police, which has records of one death, due to beatings, and a fire, while in health units there are records of 27 cases of injuries, some with a knife, others for being run over and assaulted.<\/p>\n

Located in the south of Angola, the municipality of Lubango has close to two million inhabitants, spread across its three thousand 147 square kilometers.<\/p>\n
