Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The province of Huambo hosts, from the 4th to the 16th of April, the first African Book Biennial, as a multifaceted cultural space, which aims to bring together writers from 54 countries on the continent \u201ccradle of humanity\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The information was made public this Wednesday by the Angolan writer Nituecheni Africano, pseudonym of Euge\u0301nio Afonso Gaspar, during a meeting with the governor of the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, which served to present her with the \u201cLiterary Reference\u201d award, won on December 5, 2023, in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).<\/p>\n<p>The writer said that the event, an initiative of the Federal University of Brazil, which will have, among its ambassadors, the Brazilian actress Tai\u0301s Arau\u0301jo, will feature a presentation of literary works by African authors, crafts and an exhibition of performing arts.<\/p>\n<p>On the sidelines of the Biennale, taking place under the motto \u201cAn Africa in peace and without war\u201d, lectures and colloquiums will be held on African literature, in addition to serving as an exchange of experience between African writers and culture makers in Brazil, appointed as ambassadors of the activity.<\/p>\n<p>As for the \u201cLiterary Reference\u201d award, he said he was the only Angolan representative recognized in the second edition of the event, considering it the second biggest award in the history of the Brazilian literary world, after the \u201cJabuti Award\u201d, in an initiative by the Brazilian publisher Publiart.<\/p>\n<p>Nituecheni Africano won with the work \u201cThe Emigrant of the Web and His Follies\u201d, with a pure message that transmits moral values \u200b\u200bto global society, as it has contributed greatly to the recovery of good habits in the world.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the gold medal he received and the designation of ambassador for the Federal University of Brazil, the Angolan writer, the only African representative in the competition, received a check equivalent to 54 million Kwanzas.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, the governor of the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, said it was a pleasure to welcome an Angolan writer, who won the international \u201cLiterary Reference\u201d award and, also, for bringing to this region the first Book Biennial African, because the country needs young people who, despite working in silence, present public results that enhance everyone.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, he added, the Government of the province of Huambo expresses its full willingness to support and help prepare the event, with the participation of writers from 54 African countries, which will once again present a great moment for this region of the country&#8217;s Central Highlands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are going to work in this direction and, from now on, the institutional support of the Government of Huambo is guaranteed, as the good is not only for the writer, but also for the province and perhaps the country, in general\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Writer&#8217;s journey<\/p>\n<p>It is recalled that Nituecheni Africano, 33 years old, won, in 2022, the category of Best Novel of the IV edition of the Great Literary Competition of Latin America, with the work entitled \u201cThe Immigrant of the Web and His Follies\u201d, which includes 63 pages and edited by the Association of Young Writers of Angola.<\/p>\n<p>The event, the basis for voting, was attended by 192 writers from various countries, particularly Latin America, who competed in various categories, with Nituecheni being African, the only representative of the continent \u201cthe cradle of humanity\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of 2023, he was appointed ambassador of literature in five African countries, by the Brazilian magazine Word-Book Revier.<\/p>\n<p>These are Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Sierra Leone and Uganda, through solidarity financing, which began on April 3 of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The writer was recently at the headquarters of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), in Lisbon, Portugal, where he launched the work \u201cO Recluso\u201d, a detective novel genre, which addresses, among other themes, the money laundering of capital and abuse of power.<\/p>\n<p>To date, he has four literary works, namely \u201cO Prisioneiro do Amor\u201d, with 255, \u201cO Vendedor de Pa\u0303es As Mos\u201d, with 145 pages, and \u201cO Imigrante da Web e Sua Folices\u201d, with 63 and \u201cReclusos \u201d, with 153 pages.<\/p>\n<p>Born in the province of Huambo, on September 12, 1990, writer Euge\u0301nio Afonso Gaspar has a degree in IT and Business Administration from the Technical University of Angola (UTANGA).<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211;
