Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Youth Association to Support Needy Young People (Jucarente) plans to organize, during this year, 10 health fairs in the province of Cuanza-Norte, according to the president of the institution, Nkilucissa Jose\u0301 Gombo.<\/b><\/p>\n

In recent statements to the press in Ndalatando, Gombo explained that the intention is to reduce the number of cases of malaria and HIV-AIDS in local communities.<\/p>\n

In addition to health fairs, the organization also plans to carry out similar actions in the areas of literature, employability, agribusiness and entrepreneurs, aiming at community development in the province and minimizing some social problems.<\/p>\n

Nkilucissa Gombo was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the members of the association’s governing body in Cuanza-Norte.<\/p>\n

According to the head of the association, there is a high number of cases of malaria and HIV-AIDS in the communities, which justifies the association’s commitment to family awareness campaigns, screening campaigns and prevention of these diseases, with the distribution of mosquito nets, sanitation basic, among others.<\/p>\n

Distribution of wheelchairs and crutches for people with physical disabilities, creation of small businesses for women with albinism are other actions to be developed by the association.<\/p>\n

Nkilucissa Gombo also expressed concern about the high level of vulnerability of families, heightened by the natural calamities that cyclically affect the province, such as the constant rains that fall in the region, causing the destruction of homes.<\/p>\n

He considered that this situation must deserve the support of all of society, especially the business community, in order to mitigate poverty in families.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, the president of Jucarente in the province, Celso dos Prazeres Sima\u0303o, and the vice-presidents for the social and project areas, Maria Alberto Joa\u0303o and Mondlane Sima\u0303o, respectively, took office.<\/p>\n

The secretary general, the directors for the areas of finance, social, exchange, communication and image, health, culture and sports, protocol and the spokesperson were also sworn in.<\/p>\n

During his stay in the province, the president of Jucarente held a courtesy meeting with the governor of Cuanza-Norte, Pedro Makita Ju\u0301lia.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, he expressed his association’s intention to work with the local government, aiming to contribute to the development of the province, through actions that impact the lives of families.<\/p>\n

In turn, Governor Pedro Makita stated that the provincial government is open to working with anyone who wants to contribute to the development of the province.<\/p>\n

The members of the association showed solidarity with the victims of the rains in the province and committed to helping build a house for the woman who lost five family members due to the collapse of her residence, which occurred last November, in Ndalatando.<\/p>\n

They also delivered basic food baskets and hygiene products to some albino women in Ndalatando.<\/p>\n

Created in March 2003, Jucarente’s objectives are to support victims of endemic diseases, support people with disabilities, the homeless, children and young people at risk.<\/p>\n

Its objectives also include supporting vulnerable people, as well as providing humanitarian, material, health and social assistance to victims of natural disasters.<\/p>\n
