Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The general officers and admirals of the Angolan Armed Forces were, on Tuesday, urged by the Minister of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Joa\u0303o Ernesto dos Santos, to carry out their missions with dedication and commitment.<\/b><\/p>\n

The government official made this request when he was speaking at the ceremony for the imposition of ranks, promotion and inauguration of the general officers and admirals of the Angolan Armed Forces, recently appointed by the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the (FAA), Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

He stated that those appointed must keep a close eye on the main instruments of their activities and in pursuing the process of modernizing and resizing the FAA, in order to guarantee military security in the face of potential threats and risks.<\/p>\n

“The newly appointed to occupy positions of direction, command and leadership of units and establishments of FAA bodies must bring a new dynamic, making every effort to raise standards of quality and efficiency, transparency, diplomacy and management of the assets displayed by the Angolan State”, he recommended.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Ernesto dos Santos considered this Tuesday’s act to be of “extreme importance for all military professionals”, as it has the meaning of identifying the military institution in the evaluation of the personal qualities of generals and admirals, dedication and commitment to the service of the Fatherland.<\/p>\n

During his intervention, he defended the observance of the principle according to which the soldier must serve in the place where the Higher Command assigns him, with commitment, more dedication, distinction, high patriotism and national interest above personal interests.<\/p>\n

As part of the regular process of staff and mandate renewal in the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), 17 general officers and admirals were promoted and 54 others were sworn in.<\/p>\n
