Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ombudsman, Florbela Ara\u00fajo, held, this Tuesday (29), in Lusaka, capital of Zambia, a working meeting with her Zambian counterpart, Caroline Sokoni, as part of a three-day visit, to learn about the situation of Angolan citizens residing in that country.<\/b><\/p>\n

Florbela Ara\u00fajo will sign a Memorandum of Understanding, with the aim of bringing the two Ombudsmen closer together and thus promoting the extension of legal support to the citizens of both countries.<\/p>\n

According to a press release, there are many Angolans residing in Zambia, most of them in precarious conditions, without the basic documents that enable them to carry out their work.<\/p>\n

Through the Memorandum, the two institutions guarantee the citizens of their countries legal support in matters such as obtaining work visas, among other aspects involving legal disputes.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of the visit, the Angolan embassy in Zambia organizes a lecture, with the presence of the resident community, aiming to inform about the role of the Ombudsman in defending their rights.<\/p>\n

Florbela Ara\u00fajo will also meet with the Zambian Minister of Justice. The Angolan ambassador to Zambia, Azevedo Francisco, said that the provider’s visit was very opportune, as it would allow for a better familiarization with the problems experienced by the Angolan community residing in the country.<\/p>\n
