Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of the Interior, Euge\u0302nio Laborinho, defended this Tuesday, in Luanda, the reinforcement of the operational activities of the National Police, with a view to considerably reducing crime rates.<\/b><\/p>\n

For the leader, who spoke at the inauguration ceremony for the corporation’s new commission officers, this reinforcement must be in coordination with local governments, organized civil society and citizens.<\/p>\n

He called for the identification of the perpetrators and masterminds of violent crimes, illicit trafficking of strategic minerals, vandalization of public property, among others.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted crime among young people, carried out using bladed weapons and beyond, as another worrying case, and said that proximity policing actions must be reinforced with a view to helping the population acquire the culture of reporting.<\/p>\n

According to Euge\u0302nio Laborinho, people should be careful, as most crimes occur within the family and are committed by people close to them.<\/p>\n

Cybercrimes were also mentioned by the minister, who called for updating in the area of \u200b\u200bInformation and Communication Technologies, to assist the Police and Justice bodies in actions to prevent and combat cybercrimes.<\/p>\n

He explained, in particular, the identification of scams and other financial fraud inflicted through the use of the internet.<\/p>\n

He guided a new dynamic to the Civil Protection and Fire Services Services, in order to quickly and effectively assist injured people, especially in cases of fires, road accidents, shipwrecks, floods and other calamities, as well as international commitments.<\/p>\n

In a Presidential Decree released on Thursday, the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, appointed several officers as commissioners of the National Police, the Criminal Investigation Service, generals and admirals of the Angolan Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

The Commander-in-Chief also decreed the promotion and retirement of commission officers, generals and admirals, among other acts linked to the areas of Defense and Security.<\/p>\n
