Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Twelve trucks carrying nineteen (19) containers, with various ferrous materials, to be illegally exported to the Republic of Congo, were seized by the police at the La\u0302ndana containment post, municipality of Cacongo, province of Cabinda.<\/b><\/p>\n

The materials were packed in 12 20-foot containers and 7 40-foot containers.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the police command in Cabinda, quartermaster Marcos Cochito, clarified that the material seized on Monday is in compliance with Joint Executive Decree No. 119\/21, of May 6, between the ministries of Industry and Commerce and Culture and Tourism and Environment.<\/p>\n

The Decree, according to Marcos Cochito, establishes the quota of waste to be transferred outside the country for the purposes of reuse, recycling and recovery.<\/p>\n

He also said that the seizure occurred near the containment post under the Chiloango River, in La\u0302ndana, when the aforementioned trucks, loaded with the material, were stopped without the owners having licenses to export the metals.<\/p>\n

The trucks were seized and are at the Massabi border post, north of Cabinda, where they await the Public Ministry’s decision.<\/p>\n

The Massabi border, with the neighboring city of Ponta-Negra, Republic of Congo, has been the entry and exit point for various goods that circulate to both sides.<\/p>\n
