Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rui Migue\u0302ns de Oliveira, assured this Wednesday, in Luanda, the creation of necessary control conditions to avoid the shortage of wheat flour and, consequently, speculation in the price of bread in the National market.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking during the first edition of ‘Cafe\u0301Cipra’ in 2024, the government official recalled that wheat flour and bread are part of the products covered by the monitored price regime, which is why they are creating conditions to effectively implement this Government regulation.<\/p>\n

“We need to make this regulation more transparent. Therefore, we have to monitor the entire chain, from cereal production to the final production of bread”, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

He explained that the bread produced in the country is essentially made from wheat flour and Angola already produces this product, despite not yet satisfying market demand, and is still very exposed to external factors.<\/p>\n

Faced with this scenario, marked by dependence on wheat imports, Rui Migue\u0302ns de Oliveira pointed to the increase in national production as an internal response to solve the problem of these imports and avoid an increase in the price of the entire chain.<\/p>\n

He said that increasing the level of cereal production will allow companies to transform wheat grain into flour and increase the supply of this product on the market.<\/p>\n

He mentioned, on the other hand, that the Government also intends to ensure that the national industry can reach adequate production levels, as a significant part of it is producing below 50 percent.<\/p>\n

It is also part of the sector’s agenda to ensure that the country’s small and large agricultural production is transformed, so that products reach citizens’ tables at affordable prices.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, the sector is also working to simplify export processes, to increasingly allow companies to participate in the national production process and feel attracted to exporting locally produced goods.<\/p>\n

Under the motto ‘Impact of private investment in the productive sector’, the first 2024 edition of ‘Cafe\u0301Cipra’, promoted by the Press Center of the Presidency of the Republic (CIPRA), was guided by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Jose\u0301 de Lima Massano, with the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Francisco de Assis, and the president of the Board of Directors of AIPX, Lello Francisco.<\/p>\n
