Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Four thousand and five hundred community and health development agents (ADECOS) are trained to contribute to the implementation of the Executive’s programs aimed at the development of the poorest and most vulnerable communities.<\/b><\/p>\n

In Ndalatando, Cuanza-Norte, the coordinator of the ADECOS National Program, Lucinda Miguel, informed that these social activists were trained in more than one hundred municipalities. Each circumscription has an average of 30 ADECOS.<\/p>\n

According to the person in charge, of the four thousand and five hundred development agents trained in the country, two thousand and six hundred work on implementing the KWENDA program.<\/p>\n

Started in 2014, through joint work between the Ministries of Territorial Administration, Health and Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion, the training of community agents, coordinated by the Local Development Institute (FAS), has contributed to the improvement the living conditions of the populations.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the management of simple cases of malaria, registration of vulnerable families, food and nutritional security, sanitation and environmental management, citizenship, among other fields of action of ADECOS in communities.<\/p>\n

The referral of children outside the normal education system, elderly people and pregnant women, promotion of hygiene and basic sanitation, preventive health education, constitute, according to Lucinda Miguel, other areas of ADECOS intervention.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Social Monetary Transfer Program, through KWENDA, Lucinda Miguel highlighted that, through partnerships with other institutions, ADECOS are integrated into other community development projects.<\/p>\n

He stated that within the scope of this program, more than three hundred ADECOS supervisors were also trained, who are assisting in the coordination, training and management of the entire process.<\/p>\n
