Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The focus on revitalizing basic structures, with a view to strengthening party political actions and greater inclusion of the militant mass, was once again defended, this Thursday, by the MPLA Committee in Cunene.<\/b><\/p>\n

The appeal was reaffirmed at the opening ceremony, in Ondjiva, of the day on January 10th, the day of the founding of the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA), the female arm of the party in power in Angola.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony, the secretary of the Department of Political Electoral, Economic and Social Affairs (DAPEES) of the MPLA Provincial Committee in Cunene, Jose\u0301 Veyeleinge. called for the continued mobilization of women from various social strata for their active participation in the democratic process in Angola.<\/p>\n

He said that the leaders of the Base Sections have the responsibility to carry out their tasks with zeal and dedication, in mobilizing women to join the organization and make it increasingly stronger.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2023, they carried out the process of review and renewal of mandates in their base organizations, which made it possible to assess the level of organization, functioning and readiness within the communities,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

She also asked women to invest in initiatives that aim to empower other women in communities for self-determination, as well as entrepreneurship to diversify the economy.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Veyelenge recalled that, 66 years after its foundation, it is time to reflect and recognize that political, economic and social phenomena require more proactive activities to respond to the challenges of the future.<\/p>\n

In turn, the provincial secretary of the OMA in Cunene, Vive\u0302ncia Ndalyewifa, asked for the militants’ engagement in the scheduled activities, to contribute to the affirmation of this female organization of the party.<\/p>\n

During the 10th of January, several activities were programmed, highlighting visits to base committees, a round table on the historical trajectory of the OMA and rubbish cleaning campaigns, among others.<\/p>\n

OMA was created in 1962 in Leopoldville, now Kinshasa, by a group of Angolan women, affiliated with the philanthropic association called \u201cKudiango\u0301\u201d.<\/p>\n

Deolinda Rodrigues Francisco De Almeida was one of its co-founders and the most emblematic figure in its history.<\/p>\n
