Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The new vision of American investments for Angola and the need to increase the exchange of official visits in the most varied areas, were under analysis, this Thursday, in Luanda, in a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, and US Ambassador Tulinabo S. Mushingo.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), during the meeting the two entities discussed issues related to the state of bilateral cooperation, following the recent visit of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, to the United States of America.<\/p>\n

The parties also spoke about regional issues, focusing on the issue of peace in Africa and particularly in the SADC region.<\/p>\n

The conflict that persists in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was also mentioned during the meeting between the two entities.<\/p>\n

Angola and the United States of America established formal diplomatic relations in 1993.<\/p>\n

Angola is the US’s third largest trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, mainly due to oil exports. The two countries cooperate in several areas, with emphasis on trade, finance, energy, manufacturing, security, health and justice.<\/p>\n

Trade between the two countries reached, by November 2019, around 1.4 billion dollars.<\/p>\n
