Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The approximately 90 kilometers of the section that connects the municipal headquarters of Nzeto to the commune of Kindege will benefit, in the coming months, from earthworks to facilitate the movement of people and goods, the provincial governor announced on Thursday from Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho.<\/b><\/p>\n

The government official made this announcement to the press, at the end of a field trip, which aimed to verify, together with a team from the Ministry of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, the current state of this road that also gives access to the province of Ui\u0301ge.<\/p>\n

According to the governor, the start of the project, which also includes the rehabilitation of 13 bridges and bridges along the route, will be underway soon, to minimize the suffering of road users.<\/p>\n

He explained that the rehabilitation of the Nzeto\/Kindege section is part of the package of projects to be implemented by the Provincial Government in the 2024 financial year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not yet going to talk about laying the asphalt carpet, but rather about well-done earthworks to quickly restore mobility on this route\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n

Adriano Mendes de Carvalho highlighted the agricultural potential of the Kindege commune, especially citrus fruits and bananas, whose production often ends up rotting due to lack of drainage.<\/p>\n

Some motorists interviewed, on site, applauded the Government’s initiative in rehabilitating the aforementioned road and asked for work to begin quickly.<\/p>\n

Mateus Anto\u0301nio, a driver, said that they currently travel from the town of Nzeto to the commune of Kindege and vice versa for two to three days.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has not been easy to travel on this road, especially during the rainy season. The road is terrible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

For Janeth Costa, a fruit trader, he said that he has lost his merchandise many times, due to the delay in traveling between Kindege\/Nzeto.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany oranges and pineapples, especially, end up rotting during the journey. There are times when we spent more than three days on the road,\u201d she recalled, stressing that the announcement of the rehabilitation of the aforementioned section is welcome.<\/p>\n

The commune of Kindege, bordering the municipality of Bembe, Ui\u0301ge province, has an estimated population of more than 10 thousand inhabitants.<\/p>\n
