Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Dozens of young people continue to join the Book Fair, in the city of Benguela, which has been taking place since Monday on the premises of the Oficina Artesanal and Centro de Artes Culturais.<\/b><\/p>\n

The activity, with free entry, is a partnership between the Provincial Office of Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism, with the publisher Shalom, and offers the public a diversity of more than two thousand titles for all ages.<\/p>\n

The head of Shalom publishing house, Graciano Catumbela, made it known that the event is part of the celebrations of National Culture Day, marked on January 8th.<\/p>\n

According to the promoter, the fair is open to the general public, especially students, with the aim of awakening a love of reading and increasing the level of individual culture.<\/p>\n

Graciano Catumbela is satisfied with the residents’ participation in the Book Fair, which allows them to increase their knowledge of various topics contained in the works on display.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the exhibition features works by Angolan and foreign authors, which cover Education, Self-Help, Law, Economics, the Holy Bible, Dictionaries, Financial Education and Environmental Management.<\/p>\n

Regarding the week commemorating the 8th of January, the director of the Office responsible for Culture in Benguela, Rosa\u0301lia Tchitali, called for artists to unite around the preservation of cultural values, which must be passed on to future generations.<\/p>\n

In a meeting with the artistic class, following the celebrations of National Culture Day, Rosa\u0301lia Tchitali defended the valorization of habits and customs, for the enhancement of national culture in the province of Benguela.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he highlighted the commitment of the Provincial Government of Benguela in implementing actions that contribute to the promotion of the local cultural matrix in all its aspects.<\/p>\n

To brighten up the Book Fair, the singer Neri\u0301cia Carlos performed on the stage of the Oficina Artesanal e Centro de Artes Culturais, on Morena beach, in addition to staging a play by the Tuatuika group.<\/p>\n
