Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of the province of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, defended this Friday, in the Owagwena region, a permanent dialogue between the Angolan and Namibian people, to reaffirm peaceful coexistence between Angola and Namibia.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister made this statement during a bilateral cooperation meeting between Angola and Namibia, which aimed to find solutions regarding the presence and illegal settlement in Angola of Namibian citizens who practice agricultural activities, with a tendency towards mechanization in some areas of the province of Cunene.<\/p>\n

He considered it essential to guarantee and promote permanent friendly relations between the two countries in all dimensions of social, economic and cultural life.<\/p>\n

Gerdina Didalelwa highlighted that the neighborhood condition produces mutual advantages, but to achieve this there is a need to promote permanent, frank and respectful dialogue between the parties.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the importance of the border with Namibia, as it is one of Angola’s largest gateways to other countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), whose objective is to promote regional integration and bring closer together the sister peoples of the region.<\/p>\n

“Generally, we have a peaceful border that plays a preponderant role in the regional integration process, hence the increasingly strengthening of our friendship for the well-being of the economy and social life of the populations of both countries”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

It is estimated that three thousand 750 Namibian farmers settled illegally in the east of the municipalities of Namacunde and Cuanhama, Cunene province, with more than 11 thousand 140 animals, including cattle, goats and horses, distributed in 123 corrals.<\/p>\n

The province of Cunene shares 460 kilometers of border with Namibia, 340 of which are land and 120 are river.<\/p>\n
