Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Thirteen thousand 825 former combatants and veterans of the country began this Monday, in Saurimo (Lunda-Sul), to receive personal identification cards to guarantee access to public and private institutions without embarrassment.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, at the time of delivery of the documents, the director of the provincial office of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Anto\u0301nio Upite, said that the gesture is part of the class’s National Day celebrations, to be celebrated (15th of January).<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the cards aim to facilitate access to public services, avoiding long queues to process any document, as well as increasing self-esteem.<\/p>\n

He added that its implementation responds to the Executive’s commitments, which are embodied in the appreciation and recognition of citizens who made their contribution to the achievement of National Independence.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Anto\u0301nio Upite, stated that the Government will remain committed to improving the social conditions of this group of people, with emphasis on access to education, medical and medication assistance, support in the agricultural and livestock sector, among others.<\/p>\n

Likewise in improving subsidies, since this has been one of the major concerns they present in their daily lives, in order to contribute to their social condition.<\/p>\n

The event was also marked by the laying of a wreath on the bust of Dr. Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, by the deputy governor for Infrastructure, Cla\u0301udio Pemessa, representing governor Daniel Neto.<\/p>\n

January 15th, the date of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, was institutionalized by law 26\/11 of July 14th.<\/p>\n
