Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Six hundred and fifty-five former combatants and veterans of the country in Bie\u0301 benefited from identification cards and exemption from payment of fees for various social services.<\/b><\/p>\n

In addition to identifying the owner, it allows you to enjoy more than 50 economic and social rights, such as transport, energy, water and others.<\/p>\n

The exemption will cover 143,659 pensioners across the country, including former combatants, disabled people, companions, widows and orphans.<\/p>\n

At Bie\u0301 level, the cards were handed out during the provincial act of Former Combatant and Veteran of the Fatherland Day (15 January), held in the city of Cuito, in a ceremony led by the vice-governor for the political, economic and social sector, Alcida de Jesus Camateli Sandumbo.<\/p>\n

For Gabriel Felix Chinawalaca, one of the beneficiaries, the delivery of the card is a recognition of the former combatant in the fight for national independence, achieved on November 11, 1975.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Gabriel Felix Chinawalaca eagerly awaits the increase in the pension, currently 23 thousand kwanzas, which he considers insufficient to meet the basic needs of families.<\/p>\n

He appealed to municipal administrations to include the ancient struggle in directed self-construction programs, with the distribution of plots of land and some civil construction material (zinc sheets and others).<\/p>\n

Eunice Vihemba, another beneficiary, pointed out that the identification card is a great benefit, highlighting that the subsidy for basic social services will boost her small business, as it will facilitate her movement from one region to another, in the acquisition of products.<\/p>\n

The vice-governor for the political, economic and social sector of Bie\u0301, Alcida de Jesus Camateli Sandumbo, recalled that the Government continues to work on improving the quality of life of the population and pensioners in particular, with the construction of infrastructure, between roads, schools, hospitals, improvement in the supply of drinking water, electricity and others.<\/p>\n

In total, the province of Bie\u0301 controls two thousand 925 former combatants and veterans of the country and their descendants.<\/p>\n
