Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Government guarantees an increase in the pension of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Country in the first fortnight of the second quarter of this year, according to the sector’s National Director, Casimiro Jose\u0301 Maria.<\/b><\/p>\n

Without advancing values, the official, who was speaking within the scope of the National Day of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, marked (15 January), stated that negotiations are already 99 percent advanced, so, within a few months, Pensioners will receive an amount higher than the current 23 thousand kwanzas.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe already have some advanced contacts with the Ministry of Finance and in due course we will disclose the value\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

He said that the measure aims, among other objectives, to minimize the various situations that veterans of the country face.<\/p>\n

Pensioners receive fee exemption cards<\/p>\n

Luanda’s provincial directorate of former combatants and veterans of the country symbolically handed over cards to 130 pensioners that provide access to priorities or exemption from payments in hospitals and public transport, as well as some fees related to administration. public.<\/p>\n

However, more than a thousand cards will be delivered, according to the sector’s provincial director, Baptista Correia.<\/p>\n

This is an event also carried out in other parts of the country, as part of the celebrations of the National Day of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, which is celebrated.<\/p>\n

There are 162,300 former combatants and veterans of the country throughout the country.<\/p>\n

For their part, pensioners praised the increase in the card, saying that the current 23 thousand kwanzas they receive as a retirement pension are not enough to cover their needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are those who were unable to study, they were very young in the troops, they spent all their time there, when they returned old, disabled, they were no longer able to do anything\u201d, reports pensioner Paulo Domingos.<\/p>\n

Former combatant Eugenia Manuel stated that, although the idea is commendable, more can still be done for the good of those who defended the country with sweat and tears.<\/p>\n
