Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Eighteen field schools in the municipality of Sanza-Pombo, in the province of Ui\u0301ge, benefited on Tuesday from funds to support field schools for farmers, to boost agricultural production in the locality, within the scope of the Agriculture Reinforcement Project Farmer Resilience (SREP).<\/b><\/p>\n

Each field school received 417 thousand kwanzas, out of a total of seven million and 506 thousand kwanzas, to be delivered to 167 schools, which are expected to be created in the municipality, by the end of the project, in 2027.<\/p>\n

In the province of Ui\u0301ge, four municipalities have already benefited from the fund to support field schools, of the eight included in this first phase of the project, financed by the International Fund for Agrarian Development (IFAD).<\/p>\n

These are the municipalities of Negage, Bungo, Damba, Bungo and Maquela do Zombo.<\/p>\n

In total, 1,336 field schools will be created by the end of the project in 2027.<\/p>\n

The event that marked the delivery of the financing, which took place at the municipal headquarters of Sanza-Pombo, was presided over by the head of department of the Institute of Agrarian Development (IDA) in Ui\u0301ge, Joaquim Faustino, in the presence of the deputy municipal administrator, Augusto Anto\u0301nio,<\/p>\n

When speaking at the event, Joaquim Faustino, said that the financing will be used to purchase teaching materials for field schools and inputs (machetes, hoes, files, seeds and fertilizers), to promote agricultural production.<\/p>\n

The Farmers’ Resilience Strengthening Project (SREP), was launched in 2021, in the province of Ui\u0301ge, and is expected to benefit a total of 46 million and 760 thousand peasant families, in the municipalities of Ui\u0301ge, Negage, Quitexe, Mucaba, Sanza-Pombo , Damba, Bungo and Maquela do Zombo.<\/p>\n
