Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The province of Cunene registered a significant increase in the culture of reporting acts of corruption, in the last 12 months, with 799 cases submitted to the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE), in 2023, compared to 426 in the previous year.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the IGAE management in the province, the 799 complaints of a different nature presented in 2023 represent an increase of 373 compared to 2022.<\/p>\n

The information was provided by the IGAE delegate in Cunene, Moise\u0301s Sovi, adding that, compared to the same previous period, there was an increase of 373 cases.<\/p>\n

As a result of the complaints made, via calls to the institution’s “Call Center”, he said, 55 cases were opened, 45 of which were for investigation and 10 for verification.<\/p>\n

He stated that the cases already investigated are related to administrative irregularities, performance of duties without remuneration, unfair scheduling of absences, poor service and undue deductions in salaries.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the person in charge highlighted the level of legal awareness of citizens, highlighting that it has contributed to a significant increase in the number of complaints.<\/p>\n

He made it known that, during the period under analysis, the body recovered and sent to the respective organizations eight vehicles that were improperly owned by public officials and managers.<\/p>\n

In relation to inspection activities, IGAE carried out 42 inspection actions on various projects linked to the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and the Anti-Poverty, Kwenda and Simplifica programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn these inspection actions, 66 recommendations were issued, of which 45 were complied with, as well as 54 proposals for changing procedures\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

He added that, this year, the institution will invest in the continuous training of inspectors, with a view to responding quickly to cases of corruption and other illicit acts carried out by public servants.<\/p>\n

IGAE is an auxiliary body of the Executive with the mission of carrying out the internal administrative control of the Public Administration, through inspection, inspection, audit, supervision, control, inquiry and investigations of all bodies.<\/p>\n

Inspection control also extends to bodies and services of the direct and indirect administration of the State, as well as autonomous administrations.<\/p>\n

Its objective is to prevent and detect fraud, acts of corruption and impropriety, irregularities, misconduct on the part of public officials or administrative agents.<\/p>\n
