Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Spaniard Carlos Viver was presented (Thursday), in Luanda, as national senior women’s handball coach, replacing Angolan Vivaldo Eduardo. <\/b><\/p>\n

At a press conference, at the headquarters of the Angolan Handball Federation (FAAND), the coach considers it a challenge to guide the Angolan team, the most titled on the African continent.<\/p>\n

Vivaldo Eduardo’s successor assumes a commitment in Africa for the first time, after long years guiding teams from his country and Romania, as well as being technical director of the Spanish Federation.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Carlos Viver stressed that Angola has a very strong human potential, which allows him to dream of achieving other achievements outside of Africa.<\/p>\n

With a contract valid for two years, with the possibility of extending it for another year, the coach will have Angolan Nelson Catito as his assistant.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old Spaniard works as an advisor to the Angolan Handball Federation, having been a member of the technical team that played in the last African Championship in Cameroon, in 2022, in the 2023 World Championship.<\/p>\n

Among his main achievements, highlights include being runner-up in the world, with the Spanish senior women’s team, in 2019, in Kumamoto, Japan. Also, in 2019, he was nominated for coach of the year by the International Handball Federation (IHF ).<\/p>\n

Spaniard Carlos Viver is the fifth foreigner to guide the Angola team, after Pavel Dzeinev (Bulgarian), Paulo Pereira (Portuguese), Joa\u0303o Flore\u0302ncio (Portuguese) and Morten Soubak (Danish).<\/p>\n
