Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Appointed this Wednesday, by the President of the Republic, to the position of governor of Cuanza-Norte, Joa\u0303o Diogo Gaspar is the 12th to lead the province’s destinies, since 1976.<\/b><\/p>\n

Born on August 28, 1983, the new governor is an economist and replaces Pedro Makita Armando Ju\u0301lia.<\/p>\n

He served, among others, as deputy for the Malanje provincial circle and as coordinator of the MPLA monitoring group for Cuanza Norte, having been part of the 5th Commission of the National Assembly, which is responsible for Economy and Finance.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Gaspar is also a university professor and was coordinator of the Malanje Young Entrepreneurs Forum, a province in which he also served as delegate of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, as well as director of a football club.<\/p>\n

The new governor finds the province of Cuanza-Norte facing challenges such as the construction of the Ndalatando centrality and the completion of the new water system for the city, from the Lucala river.<\/p>\n

The access road to the municipality of Ngonguembo, Massangano, as well as the Banga\/Quiculungo\/Bolongongo road are also unfinished.<\/p>\n

The completion of actions linked to the Health, Education and agricultural sectors are also challenges for the leader.<\/p>\n

The first governor of the province of Cuanza-Norte was Jose\u0301 Congo Sebastia\u0303o, in the period 1976-1977.<\/p>\n

Also governing the province were Lourenc\u0327o Jose\u0301 Ferreira \u201cDiandengue\u201d (1977-1979), Evaristo Domingos Kimba (1979-1980), Noe\u0301 da Silva Sau\u0301de (1980-1986), Paulo Teixeira Jorge (1986-1989), Filomeno Viera Dias (1989- 1991) and Manuel Pedro Pacavira (1991-2004).<\/p>\n

They were followed by Henrique Andre\u0301 Ju\u0301nior (2004-2016), Jose\u0301 Maria Ferraz dos Santos (2016-2019), Adriano Mendes de Carvalho (2019-2022) and Pedro Makita Ju\u0301lia (2022-2023).<\/p>\n
