Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PDLCP), of the municipality of Cuvango, approved 30 projects for the current financial year, the highlight of which is the productive organization of communities and water for all.<\/b><\/p>\n

Compared to 2023, six fewer projects were approved in the municipality.<\/p>\n

In terms of productive organization of communities, the PDLCP approved eight projects valued at over 86 million kwanzas, five in the areas of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, hydraulics and engineering. Another three are in the field of rural infrastructure.<\/p>\n

When speaking about the program, the director of the study, Planning and Statistics office of the Cuvango administration, Marinela Machado, stated that only in agriculture, with 58 million, animal vaccination campaigns, acquisition of fruit plants and seeds, purchase of livestock and agricultural means, as well as opening fields for cultivation in three communes.<\/p>\n

Still within the framework of the productive organization of communities, but in rural infrastructure, according to the source, the rehabilitation and equipping of the San community’s home will be completed, work on the local fair and the acquisition of solar panel systems will be completed.<\/p>\n

Regarding the water for all project, Marinela Machado said that 52 million kwanzas are allocated for the acquisition of a 100 KVA generator for the water collection and supply center, the acquisition of basic sanitation material, as well as the recovery of water points.<\/p>\n

In other actions linked to social mobilization and citizenship, the person responsible said they included training and the allocation of cooking kits, sausage making for women, as well as training in accounting and business management for entrepreneurs, rehabilitation and equipping of the community kitchen, among other actions.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that in the case of the operationalization of institutional infrastructures, the administration will build annexed rooms, ensure the maintenance of a health center in Cuvango and acquire staff for schools, in a budget valued at 48 million kwanzas.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn primary health care, with the program we will carry out vaccination campaigns, purchase medicines and expendable materials, maintain vehicles and generators and purchase fuels and lubricants, with an additional 36 million kwanzas\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

For the provision of school meals, 36 million kwanzas are allocated, at a rate of three million\/month for some schools in the municipality, especially those located in rural areas.<\/p>\n

Annually, the municipal administration receives 336 million kwanzas through the Integrated Local Development and Poverty Program.<\/p>\n

The PIDLCP 2024 action plan was presented and approved during the first extraordinary meeting of the Members of the Municipal Council for Auscultation of Communities, which took place on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The municipality of Cuvango, which is 356 kilometers east of Lubango, has an estimated population of 106 thousand 421 inhabitants.<\/p>\n
