Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, travels to Kinshasa on Saturday, to participate, on the same day, in the investiture ceremony of Fe\u0301lix Tshisekedi, re-elected for a second term at the helm of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided, this Friday, by the Secretary of the President of the Republic for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs, Lui\u0301s Fernando.<\/p>\n

President Tshisekedi won last December’s presidential elections, thus remaining in office since his first electoral victory in 2018.<\/p>\n

Lui\u0301s Fernando said it was a “very brief” mission by the Angolan head of state, lasting just a few hours, and his return to the country would take place on the same day, after the protocol acts “which are scheduled for the historic day of the investiture\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fe\u0301lix Tshisekedi was re-elected for a second five-year term, in the general elections of December 20 and 21, 2023, obtaining 73.34% of the votes, ahead of Moi\u0308se Katumbi, former governor of Katanga (18.08% of the votes ); Martin Fayulu, leader of the opposition (5.33%) and Adolphe Muzito (1.12%).<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the Angolan statesman congratulated President Fe\u0301lix Tshisekedi on his re-election, stressing that it reveals the trust placed by the Congolese people, who, by reappointing him to the highest judiciary in the DRC, demonstrates that they positively value all political action and efforts undertaken for you and your Government over the last four years.<\/p>\n

In his message, the acting president of SADC said that this appreciation of the people goes towards reestablishing peace, stability and harmony in the DRC, without which economic and social development projects will not be able to be carried out fully, for the benefit of the prosperity and well-being of the Congolese.<\/p>\n
