Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, this Friday licensed 21 new officers of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) to retire due to age limit and completion of mandatory military service.<\/b><\/p>\n

The 21 soldiers were returned to civilian life in a formal event led by the Minister of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Country, Joa\u0303o Ernesto dos Santos, who handed them their retired licensing certificates.<\/p>\n

In his speech, the minister made it known that he will continue to count on new retirees in case of legal necessity provided for in the FAA National Defense Law, such as the State of Siege, War and Emergency.<\/p>\n

“That’s why the military maintains a link with the profession, maintaining the law on military careers and the rules and regulations of military discipline,” said Joa\u0303o Ernesto dos Santos.<\/p>\n

The minister highlighted the bravery shown by the recently retired and highlighted that the retirement is the fulfillment of the service order of the Chief of the General Staff that directs the licensing of active military service personnel to retire due to age limit or end of compliance with mission.<\/p>\n

“Do not see retirement as the end of everything, but the beginning of a new life, using your knowledge and experiences acquired over the years to train new generations”, he reassured, adding that retirement is the recognition of those who gave their best of themselves, in an indelible way, for the defense of the country\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the retired Defense Attache in the People’s Republic of China, Colonel Francisco Ada\u0303o, highlighted that it was 48 years of great struggle, which is why he feels honored to have worked in the country’s most important phase: the achievement of National Independence.<\/p>\n

He called on the new generation to work with patriotism, courage and determination, and to follow the example of the great soldiers who gave their lives for the country because the most important thing is the defense of the homeland.<\/p>\n

Retired military personnel, as part of this process that began last year, were honored with certificates of recognition for the bravery and dedication demonstrated during their time on active duty, with others expected in the near future.<\/p>\n
