Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of Cuanza-Norte, Joa\u0303o Diogo Gaspar, appealed, this Monday, in Ndalatando, for the unity and engagement of all executive staff and employees, for the development of the province.<\/b><\/p>\n

When speaking at the ceremony of his presentation to members of the provincial Government, Joa\u0303o Diogo Gaspar expressed his willingness to work with all fringes of society, with emphasis on political parties, traditional authorities, academic and religious institutions and youth associations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking together and hand in hand is the only line for the growth and development of the province. Therefore, each of us is called to contribute our knowledge and strategy to the growth of Cuanza-Norte\u201d, she highlighted.<\/p>\n

According to the government official, the education, health, public security, agriculture and tourism sectors will deserve special attention from the local government.<\/p>\n

\u201cLikewise, the Government will invest in human resources, which should be seen as the province\u2019s greatest wealth\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n

Making reference to the program to combat corruption and nepotism carried out by the Executive, he urged public managers to maintain ethical, civic and patriotic behavior, especially in relation to issues related to the treasury.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoever dares, thinks or practices these evils will be called to account before the bodies of the Administration of Justice\u201d, he warned.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Dioni\u0301sio da Fonseca, who presided over the event, urged city dwellers to collaborate with the Government, in favor of the development of the province.<\/p>\n

Members of the provincial government, representatives of defense and security bodies, religious leaders, traditional authorities, among other guests, participated in the ceremony.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Diogo Gaspar replaces Pedro Maquita in the position, who was dismissed last Wednesday by the Head of State, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic and for convenience of service.<\/p>\n

Born on August 28, 1983, the new governor is an economist and served, among others, as deputy for the Malanje provincial circle and as coordinator of the MPLA monitoring group for Cuanza-Norte, having integrated the 5th Commission of the National Assembly, which is responsible for Economy and Finance.<\/p>\n

He is also a university professor and was coordinator of the Malanje Young Entrepreneurs Forum, a province in which he also served as delegate of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, as well as director of a football club.<\/p>\n
