Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Three hundred US dollars is the amount paid by each of the 20 illegal immigrants from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who on Sunday, the 21st, violated the national border, to reach the city of Mbanza Kongo, capital of the province of Zaire.<\/b><\/p>\n

The group from the neighboring country was detained by the Border Guard Police (PGF) in the border commune of Luvo, 60 kilometers north of the city of Mbanza Kongo.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the Zaire Provincial Command of the National Police, quartermaster Lui\u0301s Bernardo, told this Monday, that the illegal entry of the aforementioned foreigners into the national territory was facilitated by a citizen of the DRC, who was also detained.<\/p>\n

He added that the accused is a repeat offender of this type of crime and had already been sentenced to two years in prison, in 2023, by the Mbanza Kongo District Court, having escaped from jail two months later.<\/p>\n

“This DRC citizen, named Charly Ntua Nsuka, aged 32, accused of the crime of promoting and assisting illegal immigration, was being sought by local authorities, for having escaped from the Nkiende prison, where he was serving a two-year sentence. years, since 2023\u201d, highlighted the source.<\/p>\n

Lui\u0301s Bernardo reported that he, accompanied by his compatriots, was arrested in flagrante delicto on a farm located in the commune of Luvo, when they were preparing to reach the city of Mbanza Kongo, via clandestine routes.<\/p>\n

He explained that the money charged by the aforementioned guide, with permanent residence in the town of PTC\/Lufu (DRC), was only to reach the city of Mbanza Kongo, and then invoice other amounts to take them to the country’s capital, Luanda.<\/p>\n

Among the illegal immigrants detained, eight are women. All will be sent in the next few days to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), for their repatriation.<\/p>\n

The province of Zaire shares a 310-kilometer border with the DRC.<\/p>\n
