Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, defended, this Monday, in Luanda, the preservation of the cultural, political and social identity of the people of the Kingdom of Luvale, for the maintenance of Angolanity.<\/b><\/p>\n

For the digigent, cultural identities must be conceived as a process of identification that is established in a certain time and space, giving rise to a succession of constant self-creations that, from time to time, are configured.<\/p>\n

The minister, who was speaking to the press at the end of a consultation meeting held with the interim queen Nhakatola (Anabela Ngambo Kaumba), considered that it must be articulated and understood that ethno-linguistic groups cross borders and their cultural and political identity build a nation, aspects that are not only present in Angola, but also throughout Africa.<\/p>\n

In turn, the queen said that there is consensus in the region to reject the name Casai Zambezi proposed by the authorities, within the scope of the division of Moxico, as it has no historical foundations with its people.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe vehemently deny the name Casai Zambezi because it represents nothing to us and the only thing we know about this name is that it represents a river\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

According to the interim queen, the name that her people propose is \u201cMoxico Leste ou Oeste\u201d.<\/p>\n

Regarding the division of the region, he said that they will soon hold a meeting with the Ministry of Territorial Administration to discuss the situation related to the Political \u2013 Administrative Division of the Luvale people.<\/p>\n

Queen Nhakatolo will be enthroned between the 19th and 22nd of July this year.<\/p>\n

The Luvale kingdom in Angola is represented in the provinces of Moxico, Lunda Sul, Lunda Lunda Norte and in the diaspora the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.<\/p>\n
