Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Miguel Bembe, and his counterpart from Japan, Nakagawa Tsutomu, analyzed this Wednesday, in Addis Ababa, the state of bilateral relations.<\/b><\/p>\n

During the meeting, held at the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in this city, diplomats exchanged views on ways to intensify and expand the areas of bilateral cooperation, according to a note from the Angolan Embassy in Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

The Angolan diplomat praised Japan’s contribution to Angola’s socio-economic development and informed his interlocutor that the country will once again have a seat on the African Union’s Peace and Security Council, starting in February this year.<\/p>\n

For his part, Nakagawa Tsutomu provided information about the next edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), to be held in August 2025, in Yokohama, and in relation to the projects that the International Cooperation Agency of the Japan (JICA) develops on the African continent.<\/p>\n

Angola and Japan established diplomatic relations in September 1976.<\/p>\n

With the establishment, in 2018, of the JICA Office in Angola, technical and economic cooperation was reinforced, especially in the areas of agricultural development, maternal and child health and professional training, in addition to the implementation of the digital television project.<\/p>\n
