Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The new provincial delegate for the Interior and commander of the National Police in Lunda-Sul, Mateus Andre\u0301, highlighted Wednesday, proximity policing as a strategy to combat crime and road accidents.<\/b><\/p>\n

The official committed to ensuring the exercise of fundamental freedoms and guarantees for people in the province.<\/p>\n

Speaking in his presentation to the staff of the Ministry of the Interior in Lunda-Sul, Mateus Andre\u0301 mentioned that proximity policing in various aspects is one of the ways to stop crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will continue our work to prevent and combat crime, as well as protect people\u2019s collective and individual property, with a view to maintaining order and tranquility in the province\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

Regarding the vandalization of public property, the official said he had information about this situation, which has taken on alarming tones throughout the country.<\/p>\n

He said he will do everything to reverse the crime phenomenon in Lunda-Sul.<\/p>\n

In turn, the second commander of the National Police, chief commissioner Domingos Ferreira de Andrade, who introduced the current delegate, called on local bodies for greater commitment and dedication to the arduous mission of protecting citizens.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the public security system is dynamic and, therefore, will require the new commander to adopt specific measures to combat organized crime and protect public assets.<\/p>\n

He appealed to the staff to be united and disciplined, to achieve the goal.<\/p>\n

Commander Mateus Andre\u0301’s presentation was preceded by a courtesy meeting with the governor of Lunda-Sul, Daniel Neto, to analyze issues linked to public safety, road accidents, among other aspects.<\/p>\n

Mateus Andre\u0301 replaces Commissioner Ma\u0301rio Miguel Lui\u0301s, who headed the delegation of the Ministry of the Interior and the Police in Lunda-Sul for four years.<\/p>\n

During the event, the new director of the Criminal Investigation Services (SIC), Nelson Leonel da Cruz, was also presented.<\/p>\n
