Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The national teams of Angola and Namibia face each other on Saturday (6 pm) at the Esta\u0301dio da Paz, in Bouake\u0301, in the opening of the round of 16 of the 34th edition of the African Nations Football Championship (CAN’2023), in Co\u0302te d’Ivoire.<\/b><\/p>\n

In the regular phase, the Palancas Negras (official name of the Angolan team) finished in first place with seven points (Group D), the result of a draw and two victories, against Algeria (1-1), Mauritania (3-2) and Burkina Faso (2-0).<\/p>\n

The next positions were occupied by Burkina Faso (4), Mauritania (3) and Algeria (2), in last place.<\/p>\n

The first three qualified for the eighth round, while the Algerians, who appeared in this competition among the main candidates for the title, were eliminated in the first phase.<\/p>\n

The Namibians, on the other hand, who competed in Group E, achieved a triumph (1-0) against Tunisia, a draw (0-0) with Mali (winner of the series with 5 points) and a heavy defeat of 0-4 against South Africa, with four points, in third place.<\/p>\n

The South Africans finished in second place, also with four points, followed by Tunisia, in last place with two.<\/p>\n

This game, it should be noted, involves opponents from countries in the southern region of the African continent.<\/p>\n
