Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Twelve thousand and 100 US dollars (one dollar is worth 828.157) were seized on Thursday, by the Customs Tax Police, in the border commune of Luvo, municipality of Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire.<\/b><\/p>\n

The amount was found inside a backpack belonging to a 48-year-old Angolan citizen, when he intended to cross the border to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n

According to the spokesperson for the Zaire Provincial Command of the National Police, intendant Lui\u0301s Bernardo, in statements this Friday, to ANGOP, the seizure of the aforementioned value results from \u201cOperation Barometer\u201d carried out by the Customs Fiscal Police. , in collaboration with the General Tax Administration (AGT).<\/p>\n

He clarified that the aforementioned citizen is committing the crime of fraud in the transport of currency abroad, foreseen and punishable under the terms of no. 01 of article 464, of the Penal Code, in conjunction with Notice no. 6\/22, of the National Bank of Angla (BNA ).<\/p>\n

The seized values \u200b\u200bwere handed over to the Luvo Customs Post of the 1st Tax Region of the General Tax Administration (AGT), while the alleged offender is facing legal action.<\/p>\n

The border commune of Luvo is 60 kilometers north of the city of Mbanza Kongo.<\/p>\n
